Coronavirus infections are decreasing in the United Arab Emirates, with just over 1,000 new infections reported on average each day.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced 1,066 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 708,302.
The UAE Health Ministry conducted 301,430 additional coronavirus tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.
The ministry stressed in a statement that its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.
The infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care, according to the Health Ministry.
MoHAP also announced 4 deaths due to COVID-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 2,018.
The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.
MoHAP also noted that an additional 1,633 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 689,277.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced 990 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 711,428.
The health authorities said, “Strict measures are being considered to restrict the movement of unvaccinated individuals and to implement preventive measures such as restricting entry to some places and having access to some services, to ensure the health and safety of everyone."
Dr Saif Al Dhaheri, the spokesperson for the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, announced the review and update of the National Travel Protocol to include easing of procedures for vaccinated with regard to isolation and quarantine, according to the destinations concerned.
The convoy arrived in the Gaza Strip through the Rafah Border Crossing, and is the largest medical support of its kind provided by the UAE to Gaza since the outbreak of the pandemic.

Thick fog continued to form for the second day in a row across various parts in the country on Thursday. The fog lasted for 12 hours and a half in several areas of the country on Thursday, as it started at exactly 10 pm and continued until 10:30am, because of the country being affected by surface high-pressure systems, accompanied with a ridge of upper air high pressure, according to the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM).
