UAE sees 1,070 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention conducted 311,295 COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours and detected 1,070 new cases.

The new cases bring the total number of infections in the country to 707,236.

The Ministry statement said that all infected individuals are from various nationalities.

“The all are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care,” said the statement.

The total number of deaths in the UAE due to coronavirus rose to 2,014 after the Ministry reported two new deaths.

An additional 1,619 infected people fully recovered from virus, which brought the total number of recoveries to 687,644.

All the tests were conducted using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

According to the Ministry statement 56,131 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given in the last 24 hours, to reach a total of 17,622,541 doses, with a distribution rate of 178.18 doses per 100 people.
 
A percentages of 83.86% have received 1 dose and 73.86% is fully vaccinated of the population.

The Ministry in a statement said that it aims to expand the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases.

Expressing its sincere condolences to the victims’ families, the Ministry called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities and adhere to the instructions and physical distancing.
