Four men were prosecuted by the Dubai Public Prosecution on kidnapping and assault charges, after brutally beating and holding a man hostage for 3 days inside a Dubai apartment.

The incident took place during last May, when one of the defendants was looking for a traveller to help him deliver gold jewellery to his family back in his home country. He came across the victim who recommended to deliver the gold with a traveller who had recently booked a flight.

Accordingly, the defendant contacted the traveller and asked him to deliver the gold safely. He blindly put his trust in him and thought that he had boarded the plane a couple of days later.

Soon after, the victim was in Naif area when the defendant and his accomplices approached him saying that he had lost contact with the traveller after giving him the gold.

The victim was blamed for the loss of gold since he was the one who recommended him from the start.

Therefore, the gang of four men began to act aggressively and suddenly grabbed the victim and dragged him towards their vehicle.

They headed towards a house in Dubai and locked the victim inside one of the rooms and began to viciously beat him up in order to contact the traveller.

The victim claimed that he was not aware of the traveller’s address back in his home country.

On the following day, the gang moved him to another apartment located in Sharjah and left him there for three days.

The defendants decided to let the victim go and threatened to kill his family back in his home country if he reported the incident to police.

However, the victim headed to the police station and filed a police report.

The defendants were placed under arrest and prosecuted to receive maximum legal punishment.
