Sharjah teacher wins 2021 Dedicated Teacher Awards, SPEA honours her

Ms Annamma Lucy is being honoured by a SPEA official.

Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has honoured a social studies teacher from GEMS Our Own English High School Sharjah – Boys’ Branch for winning the 2021 Dedicated Teacher Awards out of 13,000 nominations from 112 countries.

Praising Ms Annamma Lucy, SPEA said “she had full dedication to her students inside and outside the classroom and showed incredible efforts to continue teaching and learning during the pandemic."

Annamma Lucy created a free ‘Learning Journey’ programme during the pandemic where motivational speakers and teachers were invited to talk to students all across UAE.

Annamma started her teaching career in 1997 at Good Shepherd Convent Girls’ High School Mysore in India.

In 2007 she moved to UAE as an oversea teacher, to teach Social Studies at Our Own English High School, Boys’ Branch Sharjah, UAE.

The Dedicated Teacher Awards are a global competition in which one can nominate a current primary or secondary teacher for something wonderful they've done.
