A 33-year-old Arab man was arrested and referred to criminal court on drug trafficking charges, for possessing crystal meth in Dubai.

The case dates back to February, when anti-narcotics teams placed a drug user under arrest, and upon questioning him, he admitted that the defendant was the one who supplied him with the drugs.

Accordingly, police teams carried out investigations and located the defendant’s whereabouts.

He was ambushed and arrested, while police seized drugs with him. He confessed to facilitating crystal meth to his accomplice.

Recently, the Dubai Public Prosecution referred an Asian woman, aged 56, to criminal court for attempting to smuggle crystal meth into Dubai Airport.

The incident dates back to last November, when a customs officer suspected the contents of the defendant’s luggage, and accordingly requested that the bag would undergo a security search.

The officer found 3 bottles of shampoo with a density different than the normal. The defendant denied the existence of anything illegal among her belongings.

When the shampoo bottles were opened, the officer found foil rolls that were sealed with plastic. When those rolls were unsealed crystal meth was found.

22 rolls of crystal meth, weighing 746g, were seized by the customs officer, and the defendant was immediately placed under arrest on drug trafficking charges.
