Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, offered his condolences to Israeli counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi on the victims of the stampede, which occurred during a festival at Mount Meron.
During a telephone conversation with the Ashkenazi on Friday, Sheikh Abdullah expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the Israeli government and people, and to the families of the victims. He wished the injured a speedy recovery.
The two ministers also discussed issues of interest and exchanged views on the latest regional and global developments, including the crisis in Ukraine.
Enhancing the relations between the two countries and the role of the Abraham Accords Peace Agreement in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East to meet the aspirations and hopes of its peoples for development featured high during the meeting.
Sheikh Abdullah points out that the UAE, since its establishment, has been keen to adopt and strengthen the values of tolerance, coexistence, compassion and acceptance.
