The world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa lit up with a very important message on Tuesday evening urging everyone to get vaccinated to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.

The Burj Khalifa on its Twitter account said, “#BurjKhalifa lights up tonight to encourage everyone to take the COVID 19 vaccine.

“Protect yourself and your family. #GetVaccinated.”

Even the UAE leaders, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, urged members of the public to take the vaccine shots for a healthy society.

The UAE said on Tuesday that it has administered 93,846 more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in the past 24 hours and in the process has crossed the 2 million mark.

Now the total number of doses stands at 2,065,367 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 20.88 doses per 100 people.

UAE ministers and officials, all have taken the vaccine shots.

UAE residents have been interacting with the hashtag, "#TogetherWeRecover," on social media, underscoring the sense of community awareness about the importance of recovery and the return to normalcy after taking the approved COVID-19 vaccine.

 

The Health Ministry said there are 97 centres in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Al Dhafra Region and Majalis.

The Health Ministry said the vaccine consists of two doses, the first when one visits the facility and the second after 21 to 28 days. The vaccine is secure and is offered to age groups from 16 years and above. There are doctors in the centres who examine visitors to make sure that the vaccine is suitable for them.

It is not advisable for pregnant and lactating women to take the vaccine, he said, adding that the ministry responds to all enquiries by the public through its hotline 80011111. There are no serious side effects of the vaccine, and the symptoms that occur on the first day only are natural and similar to those of any vaccine.
