Burj Khalifa celebrates the New Year with a fireworks display.

The UAE bid adieu to 2020 in style with fireworks and a slew of entertaining activities.

The New Year’s Eve celebration saw pyrotechnics displays all across Dubai.


Dubai authorities designated places for the public to watch the spectacle, keeping the coronavirus pandemic in mind.

Spots were made to make sure social distancing guidelines were followed.  

Dubai Police female officers were playing a vital role in securing a safe #MyDubaiNewYear.

A British family of 15 during their visit to Dubai to celebrate #MyDubaiNewYear said, “Dubai provides the most beautiful experience on this occasion, and is a vibrant city.”   

Families gathered near Burj Khalifa at well-organised venues, as the clock ticked towards 2021.

Brig. Rashid Khalifa Al Falasi, Assistant Director General of Dubai Civil Defence for Fire and Rescue Affairs, made a field visit to check preparations to secure #MyDubaiNewYear celebrations.

Dubai Health Authority set up 3 field hospitals for the event, with more than 55 medical staff.

Paramedics were seen using environmentally-friendly electric bicycles to provide emergency response services to the public.

Dubai Ambulance deployed specialised teams and vehicles across the city to ensure the heath and safety of all during #MyDubaiNewYear celebrations.

The Civil Defence has a team of 583 officers and has been deployed 71 vehicles from various Civil Defence divisions to secure “My Dubai New Year” celebrations.

The Pointe Palm held concerts and fireworks shows and welcomed the “My Dubai New Year” with precautionary measures in place to ensure the safety of all.

A resident said, “When it comes to celebrations and the New Year countdowns, Dubai never falls short of expectations. With record-breaking celebrations and world-class performances, Dubai captures the eyes of the world every time…”

Sharjah Al Majaz Waterfront captivated residents and tourists with fireworks and a slew of entertaining activities.
