The Dubai Public Prosecution referred two Asian workers, aged 21 and 26, to criminal court for stealing a bike that was left on one of Dubai’s roads by its owner.

The robbery was witnessed by a security guard of a nearby facility around 5:30am when the two defendants were sneaking around the area.

The guard grew suspicious of their behaviour.

The two circled around their target, and after making sure no one was around, they cut the bike’s lock using a metal tool.

Little did they know that the whole robbery was witnessed by the security guard, who immediately called the police and managed to keep the defendants in the area until they were arrested.

The thieves were charged with robbery, and are now facing jail term due to their actions.

Recently, two African men, aged 28 and 33, were apprehended and referred to criminal court for mugging a man of Dhs60,000 in Dubai.

Details of the incident indicate that the defendants used to target bank customers.

They had planned to follow the victim to strike at the right time.

The defendants waited until the victim withdrew the mentioned amount then drove his vehicle to a nearby store.

Once the victim entered the store, the defendants head for the vehicle and broke the windows using a metal rod, then grabbed the money bag and fled the scene.

One of the defendants was holding a knife to threaten nearby standers until the robbery was completed.

During investigations, the victim testified that he had heard windows breaking, and immediately left to check his vehicle, but unfortunately discovered that the bag containing Dhs60,000 was missing.

Witnesses of the robbery managed to write down the defendants’ plate numbers, and helped police to easily identify the thieves.

The two defendants were apprehended and charged with robbery.
