An Asian gang of nine was arrested and referred to criminal court for stealing electric cables and brutally assaulting the security guard at a construction site in Dubai.
Official records indicate that the gang entered the site at around 3:00am and brutally assaulted the security guard.
After that, they tied up the security guard with tape and stole his wallet, phone and Dhs120.
Before fleeing they also took away electric cables worth Dhs2,000 with them.
Police identified the culprits with the help of surveillance cameras and successfully apprehended the gang.
Official records indicate that the victim was coming out of an exchange after withdrawing the money when he was suddenly attacked by two of the defendants.
An Asian worker was sentenced by Dubai Courts to two years in jail followed by deportation for brutally assaulting a man and causing permanent disability to him with the help of runaway accomplices.
The five-member gang, comprising four men and a woman, all Asians, had entered the country on visit visas.
The victim tried to arrest the suspect, but he resisted the arrest, until the second officer came to help and they brought the suspect under control.
A medical staffer at the hospital said that the man died due to severe injuries and fractures that he sustained in the accident.
