The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services was able to rescue a little girl, who has not yet completed her first year, who was submerged under the water in the bathtub at her parents’ house. The girl suffered a loss of speech, pulse and respiratory activity. The paramedics rushed to the house in Al Barsha 1 and arrived there in no more than eight minutes and this helped save the girl from an inevitable end.

Upon their arrival in the place, the paramedics discovered that the condition of the 11-month-old girl was unstable and that she lost her speech, pulse and ability to move. The paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on her before they transferred her to the Emirates Hospital in Jumeirah. They also continued their attempts until the pulse returned albeit weak. Soon, the child moved and signs of life including inhalation and exhalation appeared, while her voice was heard again during her transfer to the hospital.

Earlier this year, the marine squad of the General Directorate of Civil Defence of Ajman on Saturday rescued a young Arab and an Asian from drowning, while a third Asian died in the hospital.

The body of a fourth victim, an Arab, was found after three hours of search.

The incident took place on the Ajman Corniche, when a Civil Defence patrol of the Maritime Rescue received a report that some persons had drowned after being swept away by undercurrents.

Instantly, the rescue teams started their search for the victims and rescued three, one of whom was an Asian who was in a coma and was handed over to the National Ambulance.

However, he died later in hospital.

As for the fourth person, an Arab national, he went missing before the arrival of the marine rescue squad and after an extensive search his body was found.

Recently, the Dubai Sports Council , DSC, and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, DCAS, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, to cooperate at sporting events and ensure the safety and health of participants.
