Dubai Duty Free warehouse fire put out

The fire was doused within minutes.

The Dubai Civil Defence teams put out a fire that broke out in the issuing yard of the Dubai Duty Free warehouse on Monday.

Dubai Duty Free in a statement confirmed that a fire started in the issuing yard of the Dubai Duty Free warehouse in Umm Ramool around 2:00 pm and all employees were evacuated safety and in a timely manner.

The Dubai Civil Defence teams were quickly on the scene and extinguished the fire within minutes. There were no injuries during the incident, the statement said. Dubai Duty Free thanked the emergency services for their swift action.

Separately, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence teams successfully put out a massive fire in a restaurant near Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Road on Sunday evening. The fire resulted in no casualties.

Civil defence teams of the Abu Dhabi Police’s Emergency and Public Safety Department immediately rushed to the scene after receiving a call reporting about the incident.

The building was safely evacuated and the fire was put out before it could reach the rest of the apartments.

A forensic team will investigate the cause of the fire.  Authorities have urged business owner and residents to conduct necessary checks to ensure all electrical systems are working properly.

It is also advised not to store any inflammable items house.

On Saturday, the Civil Defence teams in Abu Dhabi put out a fire that broke out in a 12-storey residential building in Al Mamoura area in Abu Dhabi.

The teams evacuated people from the tower. Some residents reported of suffocation. They were transferred to the hospital for treatment.

The team members prevented the fire from spreading to the residential apartments.

The residents from the adjacent buildings were safely evacuated. Last month, the Sharjah civil defence teams successfully managed to put out a fire in Al Bandary Twin Towers in Sharjah. Police operation team had received a call about the fire on July 11, and accordingly contacted the building’s security to confirm the information.

Civil teams immediately rushed to the scene and the fire was controlled and put out within a record time.
