Dozens of newly married Emiratis who arranged simple wedding parties at a low cost in their homes due to coronavirus were surprised by a special greeting cards signed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed decided to congratulate his sons and daughters at a time when weddings have become simpler and affordable focusing on happiness of families, relatives and friends.

He asserted that the true value of marriage is to build a coherent and interconnected Emirati family filled with love and familiarity and that simplicity keeps the meanings of marriage deeper and greater than the variables and circumstances.

The Federal Youth Authority through its digital platforms surveyed views of around 5,000 Emirati youth on social media platforms about the future of marriage, where more than 90 per cent expressed their support and tendency towards simple celebrations, which focus on values and elements that establish a successful marriage and build an interconnected family.
