The Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Integrated Transport Centre in Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) are implementing infrastructure and services projects in the field of transport and roads in the capital, at a cost of Dhs6 billion and 600,000,000. The projects embody the vision of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, aiming at providing high-quality infrastructure that meets the needs of the individual and society, in line with the best international standards, which raise the standard of life, consolidate the pillars of sustainable development, happiness and welfare of the community. The projects also embody the interest and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

The first project, the Hudiriyat link, costing Dhs1 billion and 600,000,000, links Al Hudayriyat Island to other areas from several directions, including the Mussafah area and the area adjacent to the Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel, and north of Abu Dhabi Island through Mohammed Bin Khalifa Street, 11 Street or Zayed First Street.

The project aims to serve and connect development projects around Abu Dhabi Island and reduce traffic pressure on the main hubs connecting Abu Dhabi Island with the mainland.

It was divided into several phases, including the upper intersections along 12th Street in Khalifa City A from Al Yasmina Junction, up to Madinat Zayed on E20 Road, Al Yasmina Junction between 12 Street and E10 Street, and the Central Islands Road from Junction Al Yasmina to Al Sumalia Island, in addition to the intermediate islands road from Al Sumalia Island to the upper intersection on Umm Lafina Island that links Al Reem Island to Saadiyat Island.
