Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), congratulated His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai on the 14th Accession Anniversary.

Al Tayer said that he prays to God to continue to bless the UAE with progress and prosperity under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates.

Separately, Burj Khalifa, the global icon by Emaar, is marking its tenth anniversary in festive splendour on January 4, 2020.

Spectacular light shows will be held on January 4 to celebrate the momentous occasion in addition to surprise gifts for visitors to At the Top, Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall. The specially created show will dazzle visitors with a colourful interplay of designs and motifs.

No anniversary is complete without a celebration! Visitors can take part in a celebratory bash to be held at The Dubai Fountain Boardwalk with a host of amazing surprises.

At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010.

Since then, Burj Khalifa has evolved as a ‘Living Wonder’, serving as a prestigious residential address, corporate offices for multinational entities, a must-visit tourist attraction famed for At The Top, Burj Khalifa SKY as well as At.mosphere, the world’s highest fine dining restaurant and The Lounge, Burj Khalifa at a height of 585.36 metres.

With The Dubai Fountain overlooking it, Burj Khalifa is the venue of Emaar’s New Year’s Eve celebration, an unprecedented spectacle that welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors.

Emaar, the master developer of the Burj Khalifa, wowed over 2 billion people across the globe with a breathtaking pyrotechnic show on the world’s tallest building to ring in 2020. In a mesmerising story, the Burj Khalifa transformed through animation, light, sounds and a synchronized fountain show taking viewers on a journey at the onset of a new decade.

Following the traditional 10 second digital countdown on the lit façade of Burj Khalifa, the clock struck midnight, signilling the Downtown Dubai skyline to be filled with a flurry of fireworks and colour for a record-breaking eight-minute and fourty three second-long show. Those lucky enough to view the show, were treated to the longest set of consecutive fireworks in the history of the Burj Khalifa NYE shows, timed at over five minutes. The show featured a total of 1,371 kg of fireworks, which were placed across a colossal 207 firing locations.
