Sheikh Mohammed honours Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak, Minister of Tolerance.
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the UAE Pioneers ceremony was held on Tuesday, following the conclusion of the Annual Meetings of the UAE Government 2019.
Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter, “As the #UAE's Year of Tolerance soon ends, today we honoured the teams & heroes working within fields of tolerance. A prime model of our continuation of Zayed's legacy in tolerance, entrenching the UAE as a global inspiration in humanity, is @MohamedBinZayed.”
Year of tolerance honourees were:
Honouring Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak, Minister of Tolerance and Patron of the Diversity in the UAE Community.
Honouring the Convent for Million Tolerant team led by Dr. Nidal Al Tunaiji, Director General of Dar Zayed for Islamic Culture, a community initiative that deepens the values of tolerance, dialogue, acceptance and openness to different cultures.
Human Fraternity team was honoured. The team was led by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed and Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed.
'Coral Voice of Tolerance' led by Jameela Bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education. The 'Coral Voice of Tolerance' is an initiative launched to reflect tolerance in the best way possible.
Honouring Hamad Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, by the Emirates Initiative, which conveyed the image of Emirati tolerance to the Lebanese society in all its spectrums.
Honouring the Global Tolerance Leadership Team, led by Noura Al Kaabi, for sharing the world with the UAE model in building communities of tolerance.
Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed was honoured for leading the The Interfaith Alliance for Safer Communities.
Sheikh Mohammed had announced dedicating the UAE Pioneers Award this year to Emirati individuals and initiatives that support the values of a tolerant society and promote cohesion in the UAE, in line with the Year of tolerance declared by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
The nomination campaign, on the hashtag #UAE_Pioneers and through the website, received great response from the public with more than 3000 nominations submitted until last Friday.
Sultan Fahad, General Coordinator of the UAE Pioneers Initiative, stated that Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid’s call on citizen to nominate individuals and projects that actively promoted tolerance underlines the value of tolerance in the UAE as established by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The UAE Pioneers initiative aims to celebrate the Emirati role models and achievements in various fields, and to honor the leading pioneers who contributed to promoting the UAE’s status in various fields. Over the past few years, the initiative honored a number of individuals and entities for their distinguished innovations and initiatives. The winners are also featured in the yearly UAE Pioneers Book.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that the United Arab Emirates is a shining model of tolerance and openness in the region.
The event, organised by the UAE Space Agency, is the largest gathering of global space industry leaders in the Middle East and North Africa.
Mohammed also praised New Zealand’s communities for their solidarity with their Muslim neighbours against the hate crime.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday instructed the people concerned to start assessing the services of 600 government service centres, stressing that the UAE leadership will be satisfied only with the world’s top place in services and all facilities.
