An Asian worker stole Dhs3,000 from a private vehicle he used to clean daily for a woman in the same establishment. The public prosecution referred the defendant to the criminal court, which heard the first session of the case on Monday.

According to the official records, the defendant confessed during the interrogations that he worked as a cleaning worker in the same establishment in which the victim was working and was asked to clean the woman’s vehicle on a daily basis.

While cleaning the vehicle, he found Dhs3,000 so he stole the money and sent it to his home country.

The victim told the police that she assigned the defendant who worked for her to cleaning her vehicle but when she got home, she discovered that the money was missing.

After searching the defendant’s house, transfer receipts for Dhs3,000 were found. The court ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody.

In a separate case, an Asian, 37, forged work permits for 6 employees in a company he worked for. The court heard the first session of the case on Monday.

According to the official records, the defendant abused his power as a company manager by applying for work permits for employees after forging the signature of the company owner.

The company owner said he received a number of complaints from employees who had not received their salaries for several months, adding that a female employee told him that the defendant applied for a work permit for her on the sponsorship of a company he owned but did not receive her salaries.

The company owner checked with the authorities concerned to make sure of the contracts and the number of employees sponsored by his company to find that his signature had been forged in 6 work permits by a person working in the company.

After the defendant confessed to the charges of forging and abusing official documents, the court ordered that he be remanded in custody.
