Dubai Police have taken to their social media account to report an accident involving a schoolbus from Our Own English High School, in the Business Bay area in Dubai.
The accident occurred after the bus collided with a water tanker resulting in minor injuries among pupils.
15 pupils have been injured and two minor and one moderate injuries have been reported by bus supervisors.
The injured pupils and supervisors have been transferred to Rashid Hospital in Dubai.
The Dubai Police Traffic Department Director, Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, noted that preliminary information indicates the accident happened due to not leaving enough distance between both vehicles.
“A thorough investigation is underway to fully determine more causes of the accident,” he explained, adding that the accident caused traffic congestion on the Business Bay Crossing.
He expressed concern that the act of not leaving enough distance between vehicles is a serious violation, which always causes serious accidents.
“Many drivers commit the same despite repeated warnings and campaigns aimed at boosting their awareness of the need to pay attention and take caution.”
Rashid Hospital doctors provided high quality treatment for the 17 patients who were injured as a result of a car accident involving a school bus that took place on Monday in Dubai.
The model was the only victim whose body was not transferred to her home country India for cremation in view of her severe injuries.
