Labourers, doctors and officials from Dar Al Ber Society at a medical camp on the occasion of International Day of Charity.

To mark the occasion of ‘International Charity Day’, Dar Al Ber Society has organised a medical camp for labourers at a labour camp in Al Quoz, Dubai.

Dar Al Ber Society had taken a fully equipped medical bus provided by Aster Medical Centre. The labourers, who were first checked up by nurses from Aster Medical Centre, were checked for blood pressure and blood sugar. The checkup was followed by one-on-one consultation with the doctors for any illness, complications, etc.

In addition to the medical checkup the labourers were provided with gifts by Dar Al Ber Society. The gifts included items of personal hygiene including creams, shampoos, etc.

Later, the labourers were treated with sweets, cakes, etc. by Dar Al Ber Society.

As part of the medical camp, Dar Al Ber Society would also distribute free medicines to the labourers after receiving the prescriptions from the doctors who examined the labourers.

In addition to the medical camp, Dar Al Ber Society marked the international day of charity by distributing gifts and food to other 2,000 labourers at various locations including construction sites, labour camps etc.

In an unrelated development, the results of the study by the Ministry of Community Development revealed that the reality conditions and circumstances of the women of determination automatically improve as they elevate their education. The study also highlighted the reality of women of determination in the labour market, social aspects, therapeutic and rehabilitation reality and education that occupied the best category for women and girls of determination.

The goal of the study “Reality of Emirati Women and Girls People of Determination” prepared by the Ministry aimed at identifying the current reality conditions and circumstances of Emirati women and girls in the United Arab Emirates and its relation to a group of variables in terms of: type of disability, severity of disability, educational level, age, marital status from the point of view of girls and women of determination and their parents or guardians. The study included (51) girls and women of determination with different disabilities and (185) parents/guardians. Speaking about the reality of women of determination, the study revealed that the parent/guardian’s view of the reality of his daughter of determination is better than the daughter’s view of her reality.
