Following the footsteps of the UAE government which has proved to be an excellent model for women’s empowerment, the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) has set up a Ladies Forum to empower women of the society by discovering their hidden talents, honing their skills and helping them overcome struggles.

Talking to the Gulf Today, Sadaf Ather, Vice President, PAD Ladies Forum has shed light on the establishing of the forum recently and its role to bring Pakistani women especially housewives and professionals on a platform to work together.

“Ladies Forum is another innovative initiative of PAD and it is a gathering of genius minds to contribute and give back to the community. Like several wings of Pakistan Association Dubai, Ladies Forum also aims for the development of the community, focusing upon the betterment of the women personally and professionally,” she said.

The forum was established in February 2019 and it’s first launch was followed by a 3-day “Parenting Convention” with the aim of benefiting many mothers and daughters who are looking to develop healthy relationships in their family.

“Family cohesion is one of the objectives of Community Development Authority Dubai and Ladies Forum is striving hard to achieve this objective. Moreover, a series of small events have been conducted including ‘Fun Gala,’ ‘Teachers Training Workshop’ while currently a creative summer programme has been designed by the cultural team of the Ladies Forum. Under the summer programme, ‘Calligraphy’ and ‘Henna designing’ classes are being offered to creative minds,” she said adding that “in the month of August, all the members of Ladies Forum and Special guests are being invited in the most-awaited “Meet and Greet” lunch.”

She further mentioned that through a series of creative workshops, the Forum is planning to host another event after summer. This is a one-day workshop on ‘Living Healthy In A Sunnah Way’ as it will provide awareness about healthy life style, dietary requirements, toxin free pans and pots according to life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

“Professional health coaches will be conducting the workshop exclusively for ladies while we are also planning to conduct a ‘Family Conference’ to promote an ideal family set up. It will also become a milestone in resolving domestic issues and promoting peaceful home environment,” she added.
