There are a number of public and private organisations, government departments and others in the country who have been organising Iftar events to spread the true message of giving and sharing. But some are arranging free Iftar for blue-collar workers every day in the holy month of Ramadan to provide hygienic and healthy food.

The PCT Humanity, a non-government organisation in Dubai, is one of them which has been serving charity Iftar daily to host about 200-300 blue-collar workers in its industrial compound.

“We have been arranging this Iftar event for the last many years to bring blue-collar workers from their accommodation in Dubai Industrial Park through different modes of free transport service. Our volunteers who take care of the arrangements are my company workers and leaving no stone unturned to provide maximum relief through their service of providing hygienic food for their Iftar meal,” said Joginder Singh Salaria, Founder, PCT Humanity while speaking with Gulf Today.

The Pehal International’s CSR initiative PCT (Pehal Charitable Trust) Humanity, a non-profit organisation, was set up in India in 2012 and for the last couple of years has been busy with various charity activities in Dubai and other emirates.

He pointed that the charity Iftar is one such huge initiative to show people the true message of humanity as “every day we are hosting people from different nationalities who not only enjoy the Iftar but also provide meal for their later needs like Suhoor (late night meal).”

The volunteers of PCT Humanity have been preparing Iftar plates with fruits, sherbet, vegetable biryani on their own to ensure it’s totally hygienic through every stage of preparation. “The major task of storing raw material in proper place with maintained air-conditioning and cleaning while preparing huge biryani every day is to maintain the same quality and we are doing this without any hardship as our volunteers have the experience to do the same for the last many years,” he said.

The PCT Humanity recently set another milestone to create the world record for the Longest Line of Hunger Relief Packages in Abu Dhabi.

“This was in continuation of the Iftari held every day at the premises of Pehal International, Dubai Industrial Park Dubai wherein we serve pure vegetarian food as Iftar meal,” he said.
