KHORFAKKAN: Maysam Yahya Mohamed, a six-year-old girl, has completed memorising the Holy Quran fully with Tajweed and reciting.
She has become the youngest person ever in the country who completed memorizing the Holy Quran.
Maysam’s mother said, “My daughter began memorising the Quran when she was three years old through the Tahfiz sessions organised by the Sharjah Foundation for the Quran and Sunnah in the mosques. This was besides our follow-up to her at home through review and re-reading.”
The mother added that her daughter completed memorizing two chapters of the holy Quran when was three years old and won the seventh place the Sheikh Zayed Holy Quran Competition. She was the youngest candidate. All this was before joining the nursery, the mother added.
She continued, “I discovered her talent when she began learning talking. She was always repeating the Quran verses, which she hears in radio stations and television channels.
Then, I started teaching her the short surahs in home and later I took her to a mosque in Khorfakkan, where she learnt the rules of correct reciting and continued memorising the holy Quran.”
She was honoured by the Holy Quran Radio in the emirate of Sharjah, the mother said.
Various Quran competitions take place throughout the country all year round.
