Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh stole the limelight on the opening night of the Marrakech International Film Festival, where he was honoured with the Etoile d'Or trophy.

He is the latest star to be feted at the festival. Previous honorees were Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

Singh also regaled his fans with a rousing dance performance and an impromptu rap session as he received the award.

His role as a rapper in the movie 'Gully Boy' was praised by his fans.

One of Bollywood's highest-paid actors, he held  the crowds in thrall with his pulsating energy dances.

After the ceremony, Singh sped towards Marrakech's famous Jemaa El Fna Square which hosted an open-air screening of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's blockbuster Bajirao Mastani.

There he performed the rap number from Gully Boy and danced again.

Singh, the debonair and no-holds-barred star known for his eccentricities, has covered a gamut of roles in Bollywood. He is not just popular in India but overseas too.

Ranveer Singh launched his own independent music label IncInkin 2019.

He recently created a major flutter in industry circles when he posed in the buff for a New York-based magazine.
