Water is life, and with every passing day, the sources of clean water are declining. Various parts of the world are facing the issue of water shortage and drought-like situations.

Abu Dhabi-based brand Ma Hawa by Baynunah Watergeneration Technologies SP has joined hands with several organisations to provide clean drinking water to communities in different parts of the globe who are in dire need of clean drinking water, revealed Michael Rutman, CEO of Ma Hawa.

Ma Hawa enables the generation of clean drinking water directly from the air through its innovative and patented technology.

Michael Rutman was speaking to Gulf Today at the recently concluded Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) in Dubai.

Rutman said, “Ma Hawa is proud to play its role in humanitarian causes. Through our alliance with organisations like Emirates Red Crescent, Ma Hawa will provide clean drinking water to needy populations across the world.”

He added, “Building a resilient and water-secure future for the region is the goal of our company, and our technologies are playing a big role towards a sustainable future.”

He added, “Ma Hawa is providing its technology to many public and private organisations, including Abu Dhabi Municipality, Al Ain Municipality, ADNEC, Abu Dhabi Ports and IDO Ras Al Khaimah. The company eyes to expand its footprints in the UAE as well as across GCC countries.”

Rutman concluded, “WETEX is an ideal platform for global exhibitors to showcase sustainable innovation and technologies. We have witnessed a very strong demand for our technologies during the exhibition.”

Baynunah Watergeneration Technologies SP established in 2023, providing a completely renewable and sustainable source of drinking water. The company introduced an innovative, patented technology by Watergen Inc. that extracts clean drinking water directly from the air, utilising energy-efficient products. At the core of breakthrough is the patented GENius heat exchange technology, transforming the surrounding air into pure, high-quality drinking water while conserving energy.

Amro Ismaeal, Head of Marketing at Ma Hawa, said, “Baynunah Watergeneration Technology uses patented air-to-water technology through an energy-efficient process that does not affect water sources. The launch of Ma Hawa comes to meet the world's need for access to clean, healthy and clean water from sustainable sources.”

He explained the process, "The air-to-water technology, which is carried out by AWG devices, draws and purifies air in 3 stages, as these devices are equipped with three filters, which are (nano-ceramic, carbon filter, and metals). The device adds essential minerals such as magnesium and calcium, which are beneficial to human health. There is a next stage through which the extracted water goes to get rid of any bacteria, if any."
