The Malaysian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai organised an international event, titled: “My kite flies like butterflies,” at Al Forsan Park.

The aim of the event is to delight visitors, spread awareness about sustainability, and create an atmosphere of harmony, love and cooperation among attendees.

The organisers distributed to the participants kites in the form of butterflies, which turned the garden into an arena of brilliant colours in which these kites were painted, spreading smiles and joy on the faces of the attendees.

The organisers said that this event comes within the "Butterfly Effect" campaign, a social campaign organised by the Malaysian Pavilion in Astana, Kazakhstan, in 2017, for the first time, and then transferred today to Expo 2020 Dubai, and its goal is to inspire and make a deep impact through sustainable measures.

The Malaysian Pavilion was keen not to produce any carbon emissions thanks to the technology of offsetting carbon emitted from construction, various processes harmful to the environment, and the use of unnatural materials in life.

Malaysia Pavilion Director Michelle Lau Sook Yee said: “The campaign means that a small business in one area produces a big impact in another, and this is our idea of collaboration and influence; So we present this kite for everyone to enjoy the harmony offered by the Malaysia Pavilion, and to inspire everyone to take small steps so that the effect can be multiplied later. We are so happy to finally see these smiling faces here, and we can share all these amazing events with everyone here at Expo 2020 Dubai.”

The event is scheduled to be repeated once a month, specifically every last Saturday of the month, until the end of the Expo 2020 Dubai period, to give an opportunity for the largest number of people to participate in this purposeful event.
