ADX employing advancements in AI through its new platform

The UAE’s government organisations are adopting digital transformation rapidly and launching the latest solutions during Gitex Technology Week 2019.

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) is showcasing its key advances in artificial intelligence and in digitisation that enhance the services of the Exchange for local and international investors. The technology developments Arqam and ADX Digital Wallet powered  by payit were demonstrated at the Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion at Gitex Technology Week 2019, taking place from 6th-10th October at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

ADX is employing advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) through its new platform Arqam, used for business management to support the right decision-making based on multiple visions and accurate data provided by the Platform. Arqam employs multiple sources to provide machine-computed advice and information, to support the decision-making  process of management. The Platform uses a selection of data mining, analytical data process of internet data and reporting to provide a suite of information. This is all fed into a dashboard interface which provides live data, with the bonus of easy, user-friendly  access either from a computer or a mobile phone.

Commenting on Arqam, Khalifa Salem Al Mansouri, Acting Chief Executive of ADX, said “The attributes of Arqam empower board of directors, management, and decision-makers with a variety of different perspectives to boost the executive process. The advantages  of this application also ensures that customers and stakeholders are brought closer into the process, by providing more insights into the Exchange based upon the Platform’s decision support system.”

This  mobile-based digital wallet enables the sending and receiving of digital funds with ease, through a linking of ADX issued investor number. He continued: “This digital wallet empowers users to manage their stock exchange  requirements through a real-time digital pay-out model, where investors receive the dividends instantly within their wallet as soon as it is distributed. This empowers investors and corporate entities to move away from a manual dividend distribution process  through cheques or other means. The approach is one expression of our competitive regional-leading exchange, with services on a par with the best in the world.”

Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has launched the new ‘Abu Dhabi Energy Services Platform’ at Gitex Technology Week under the umbrella of the Abu Dhabi Government.

The platform offers a new generation of government services that align with the Abu Dhabi Government’s directives to enhance customer happiness, promote seamless operations, and support the emirate’s economic activity. It is designed to provide next-generation government services in Abu Dhabi, expediting licensing processes, and producing compliance reports.

The transparent, secure, and accurate platform provides various electronic services to companies operating in the energy sector of Abu Dhabi, accessible via the official website. Engineer Saif Salem Bamadhaf, the DoE’s Director of IT and Smart Government Services, said: “The Government of Abu Dhabi has achieved remarkable success in recent years in terms of digital transformation in the government sector, which we, at the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, take great pride in. It is an accomplishment that helps drive digital transformation, enhances business competitiveness in the energy sector, and cements ease of doing business principles.”

Separately, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) will shed more light on the smart app ‘Tateem’ (vaccination) and its latest updates.

‘Tateem’ is an immunization management and reminder app, it also provides information on infectious diseases. The application provides information about immunization programme and health care facilities contact information to manage your child’s immunization schedules according to MoHAP’s national immunization program. Tateem is available for download on both platforms, android and apple.

The application consists of eight sections including (Children), in which parents can add the information of their children. Another section is the “vaccine schedule” which includes vaccines for 15 diseases; such as polio, tuberculosis, hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, rotavirus, influenza B, pneumococcal, measles, rubella, mumps, meningococcal, cervical cancer and smallpox. Through the app, you can take a printout of the vaccines card and sent it by email, in addition to a section for the adult vaccine. The app also includes a game to amuse your child before or after his/her immunization.

Dr Hussein Abdel Rahman Al-Rand, Assistant Undersecretary of Health Centers and Clinics Sector, said: “Tateem is part of the smart transformation strategy for health services and to take advantage of smart and online apps. This comes as part of MoHAP’s efforts to diversify communication channels with the individuals, with the aims of realizing the best health coverage including vaccinations, which are seen as the most successful and effective medical intervention to support national programs of preventing infectious diseases and its complications.”
