This is the best time for India to engage with the world, said India’s Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, after unveiling the design of India pavilion for Expo 2020, Dubai.

Addressing India business community in Dubai on Saturday, the minister said, “Opportunities do not come knocking again and again. This is the best time in the global ecosystem with so many opportunities, so many challenges all over the world, I think this is the best time for India to engage with the rest of the world.”

Built on the largest plot at the venue, the India pavilion will also include a two-storey plaza building, which will be dismantled after the Expo 2020. However, the main pavilion will remain as legacy project. India is one of the few countries allowed to retain its pavilion as the legacy project.

The pavilion will reflect India’s outstanding cultural heritage as well as its tremendous potential and will showcase immense talents of its people, proving the theme – India is the future.

Earlier, Ambassador of India to the UAE Navdeep Sing Suri and Consul General of India in Dubai Vipul urged Indian business community in the UAE to come forward and make India’s participation at Expo 2020 a huge success as the UAE hosts the biggest Indian diaspora.

Extending the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) Dubai’s support, Chairman Nimish Makvana said, “I assure you of whole hearted support of the IBPC Dubai in making India’s participation a grand success.”

“Indian diaspora in the UAE, representing over 3.3 million of the total UAE population, is in its best ever. Today, it is more confident of growth of the UAE and India in the coming days,” he added.
