VIDEO: Massive fire at Dubai's Jebel Ali Port after loud explosion under control

A massive fire that broke out on a container ship following an explosion in Dubai's Jebel Ali Port on Wednesday night has been put out.
The blaze was extinguished in 40 minutes, no casualties reported.
Residents from Marina, JVC, and Emirates Hills said that they heard a loud explosion that shook their doors and windows.
A social networking site called “Lovin Dubai” first shared a video clip of the explosion.
It wrote on Instagram, “This was the explosion heard across Dubai tonight. Details to follow. Praying all are safe.”
Local sources said an oil tanker explosion was behind the massive fire at Jebel Ali port in Dubai.It also shared a screenshot that read, “Residents across Dubai reporting the sound of a loud bang leaving people in many communities shook.

Dubai Media Office said, “Dubai Civil Defence teams are currently dealing with a fire caused by the explosion of a container on board a ship in Jebel Ali Port.”
Emergency authorities said that two fire trucks and other vehicles reached the site south of Dubai.
Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri said, “According to initial information, the fire in Jebel Ali Port broke out on board a small-sized container ship. No casualties were reported.”
Director General of Dubai Civil Defense Maj. Gen. Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi confirmed, “The Jebel Ali Port fire has been brought fully under control and the cooling process is under way”
The Jebel Ali Port authorities said, “We are taking all necessary measures to ensure the normal movement of ships in the port continues without any disruption.”
