Various kinds of small insects land people in trouble in summer in some areas. Talking to the Gulf Today, Engineer Gomaa Atef, spokesperson from Pro Shield Pest Control Services, one of the leading Dubai-based pest control firm, said that “Summer weather is good for insects to breed. Insects are cold blooded. This means the hotter it is outside, the more energy they have to search for food which generally leads them into our kitchens, garages and bathrooms.”

“Summer means longer days and shorter nights. More hours of sunlight in a day give many pests more time to feed. This means we may see pests more often over the summer as we, too, are enjoying longer days outdoors. In summer temperature and moisture, (high humidity makes for favourable conditions for pests). Hot summer weather brings out bugs. With his experience of operating in the country for a long time, the expert said, “So far as home pest control is concerned the most probability for any pest is the cockroaches and bed bugs. Cockroaches more often visible in the kitchen and bed bugs hide themselves in the seams of chairs and couches, between cushions as well as in the folds of curtains.

He further said that pest problems can be a big issue for office managers, commercial property owners, facility management companies and the businesses operating within these office buildings. The first step to prevent a pest infestation in an office environment is to deny pests access into the premises and limit potential access to food, water and shelter.
When it comes to regularly scheduled pest control, we suggest having your home treated once a quarter or every two to three months. The average length of pest control is a minimum of 3 weeks, approximately; while for extreme pest control treatment, it can last for 90 days or more.
The expert further added, “Knowingly or unknowingly, people can create an environment that fosters pest growth. Several pests bring along a wide range of diseases. All of which can be simply avoided by having pest control in Dubai. Timely treatments can save the house as well as the people living in it from hazardous situations.”
“Spotting pests and treating the area right away isn’t easy. People make the mistake of assuming that they can deal with pests through hacks and tips. However, that is farthest from the truth. So, leaving the pest treatment to professionals is the best way forward,” he pointed.
On the importance of pest control for hotels and restaurants, Engineer Atef said, “According to statistic, the number of overnight international tourists in Dubai increased from 14.9 million in 2016 to 15.9 million in 2018.”
