Dubai Police nab thief within an hour

Two officers of Bur Dubai Police Station have been recently honoured for arresting a thief within an hour of receiving the theft report.

Colonel Rashid Al-Shehhi, acting director of Bur Dubai Police Station, praised the swift action and devotion of officers Salim Abdullah Al Balooshi and Ahmad Masnour Samandar in ensuring the emirate’s security and safety. He surprised the duo at the theft scene to thank them and express the force’s gratitude for their speedy action and tireless devotion.

The honorees extended their thanks to the Dubai Police General Command, stressing that this honour was a badge of honour on their chests and an incentive for them to continue working tirelessly towards ensuring the happiness and safety of residents.

Colonel Al-Shehhi revealed that the Dubai Police Command & Control Centre had received an emergency call from a European man whose valuables were stolen from his motorcycle when he was inside a shop in Al Quoz industrial area.

Al-Shehhi indicated that the two policemen immediately responded to the report and listened to the testimony of the victim and witnesses.

“They reviewed a recording from a nearby surveillance camera and were able to identify the thief. They then swept the area and neighbouring blocks until they located the suspect and arrested him,” Al-Shehhi added.

The European man, who has been living in Dubai since 1999, expressed in a letter addressed to the Dubai Police General Command his thanks to the two police officers for their prompt response in arresting the thief and recovering his valuables.

Recently, Dubai Police cracked a murder case using the “brain fingerprint” technology for the first time.

The officers used the smart analysis device that measures the brain waves when the suspect sees the images of the tools used in the crime or the location, and provides a thorough image of the crime scene.

Regarding the details of the murder case in which the Dubai Police used the “Memory Print” techology, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Issa Al Hammadi confirmed that the case was a murder in a warehouse where several people work.

Hammadi said that the police showed pictures of the crime scene to those present at the place, and there was one person whose brain emitted strong waves when he was shown a tool used in the crime.
