Four detainees embrace Islam in Sharjah

Four detainees of different nationalities  embraced Islam before the judicial authority at the Dibba Al Hisn and Al Dhaid police stations in the presence of a number of officials.

A detainee said, “the kind treatment and attention we received from the officials, in addition to getting to know more clearly the essence of the Islam, and the values it calls for in terms of love, compassion and tolerance, through the lectures we attended, led us to embrace Islam.”

Brigadier Khaled Al Hammadi, Acting Director of the Police Directorate of Outskirts, said the embracing of Islam by the detainees, is due to the good treatment they received during the detention and the good morals of Muslims.

Meanwhile, according to a report recently issued by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, some 2,570 residents embraced Islam in Dubai from January to September this year remotely, in cooperation with the Islamic centres in the emirate. 

Hind Mohammed Lootah, Director of the Centre said the Centre has always taken advantage of Dubai being a most diverse city with interaction within the society regardless of the background, religion and beliefs.

Lootah pointed out that this diversity has made the Centre contribute to correcting the image, values and principles of Islam, stressing that many residents have researched deeply about the Islamic religion, Islamic law and its rulings, to be fully aware of society.

Hana Abdullah Al Jallaf, Head of the New Muslim Welfare section, explained that the decision of the residents to convert to Islam followed by major changes and sometimes challenges at the cultural and social levels.
