Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) has hosted a farewell dinner for outgoing Pakistan Ambassador in the UAE, Moazzam Ahmad Khan, on Wednesday night.
The reception was attended by the office-bearers of PAD, officials from the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Pakistan Consulate in Dubai, community dignitaries and others.
Addressing the community, the outgoing ambassador, who joined the UAE mission in 2016, said that he enjoyed every bit of his time in the country and the target to achieve the strengthen the bilateral ties among the two brother countries was achieved successfully.
He has been in foreign office for a long time and served in a number of countries including the US and Europe. “Prior to my posting in the UAE, I had no experience of the Middle East situation and took this as a challenge as the biggest task to further strengthen the ties between the Pakistan and UAE. We did our part with the cooperation of the officials from both sides as well as supported by the community,” he added.
He termed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to Pakistan a major milestone for the Pakistan mission in UAE and two visits of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to achieve many targets on various fronts.
Khan also appreciated the role of the Pakistani community in the development of the UAE and also praised their services for Pakistan. “We have seen many times that our community standing with their fellow countrymen in hard times either during natural calamity or other occasions. During my tenure, wherever I went to attend an event I always heard good comments from my host towards the Pakistani community and their role in every sector and development of the UAE,” he said.
He further said, “I’m quite speechless and proudly honoured by the PAD and it’s office-bearers and the community in the Dubai. The team is committed to serve the community and achieved many milestones like completing the medical centre for the community.”
“I loved this place with my heart and would love to come back and serve the community,” he added.
“When I landed in the UAE, we had many problems but with the support of my mission staff as they are our unsung heroes and due to their hard work I had achieved many milestones from the improvement of five community schools with the support of PAD,” he added.
