Sheikh Sultan gifts House of Wisdom in Sharjah 646 rare French collections

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, gifted the House of Wisdom in Sharjah, a rare collection of books consisting of 646 publications in French, covering various aspects such as history, geography, arts, literature, philosophy, and others, enriching the collection of Arab and Islamic heritage.

The collection contains rare historical literature books dating back to the late 19th century. This addition enriches the House's vast cultural and knowledge storehouse for visitors wishing to explore the history of the Middle East.

Among the antiquarian books is "Constantinople et l'Égypte," by Cesar Vimercati, published in 1858, which is a comprehensive study of the political and economic relationship between Istanbul and Egypt.

“Documents sur l'histoire, la géographie et le commerce de l'Afrique orientale”, written by Charles Guillain, published in 1856, a book that includes information on history, geography, and commerce in East Africa.

"La décade égyptienne" is a collection of scattered articles published in 1900, dealing with various aspects of Egyptian cultural life, such as arts, literature, politics, and others.

"La rénovation de l'Empire Ottoman; affairs de Turquie" by Paul Imbert, a book talks about the reform efforts made by the Ottoman Empire early 20th century, discussing the details of the political and social changes that the Ottoman Empire witnessed during this period.
