Innovators to exhibit at Sleep Expo

Sleep Expo Middle East, happening from April 11 to 13, 2019 at the Dubai Festival City Arena, is the only event in the region dedicated to the sleep industry.  The show will bring together sleep experts and innovators under one roof to discuss and showcase the latest advances in in the sleep technology space.  

The Middle East mattress market stands at  $1.6 billion and has become highly competitive over the years with many brands – both international and homegrown – operating in the region.  While a number of the industry’s best-known players fared well, there are familiar shinning stars that continue to set the growth pace for this sector, one of which is Silentnight UAE.

This was stated by Thomas Gourdie, Online Sales Manager for Silentnight UAE, during an exclusive interview with Gulf Today, adding that despite the market being tough they continue to see growth.

“Definitely, I’ve seen massive growth the past 18 months with Silentnight entering the e-commerce market,” he added.

Silentnight UAE, a subsidiary of the UK’s leading bed manufacturer Silentnight Beds UK, has been supplying beds, mattresses, accessories and sofa sets within the Middle East since 1978.  The company’s business is predominantly through the (traditional) retail and contract formats but since joining the online playing field, Silentnight’s growth has increased significantly.

At Sleep Expo Middle East, Gourdie said they will showcase two types of the anti-snore pillow.  One is the Hollow Fiber Anti-Snore Pillow, and the other is the Micro Fiber Anti-Snore Pillow.

 “E-commerce has disrupted the mattress market and it’s actually a good thing in a way for us. A lot of new companies are coming in, most with their one-mattress-fits-all offering.  I think though that really doesn’t work as everyone has their own preferences, everyone needs different mattresses, ” Gourdie added.
