The Emirates Golf Federation will stage the first monthly tournament for UAE nationals of the 2026-2027 season on Sunday, at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, with 84 male and female golfers of various ages and skill levels taking part.
The event will also be attended by members of the federation’s board of directors and several pioneers of the sport who have contributed to its development in the UAE.
The tournament forms part of the Emirates Golf Federation’s annual programme and holds special significance as the first in the monthly series for UAE nationals in the 2026-2027 season.
It marks the launch of the federation’s programme aimed at providing regular competitive opportunities for golfers of all ages and abilities, helping them improve their technical readiness and develop their skills.
The event will also provide a platform to identify and encourage promising talent, while strengthening ties between emerging golfers and the sport’s pioneers. The younger generation will have the opportunity to benefit from the experience of those who played a prominent role in establishing and developing golf in the UAE.
The tournament reflects the continued growth of golf in the country and the federation’s commitment to preserving the sport’s achievements and building on them throughout the new season.
Major General (Retd.) Abdullah Al Sayed Al Hashemi, President of the Emirates Golf Federation, said the organisation of the first monthly tournament for UAE nationals this season reflects the federation’s commitment to further developing the sport and expanding its participation base.
He noted that the tournaments provide an important platform for discovering emerging talent, refining players’ abilities and fostering a positive competitive spirit.
“We are committed to providing a competitive environment through our monthly tournament programme for UAE nationals, bringing together different age groups and offering golfers regular opportunities to improve their performance. We also value the participation of the sport’s pioneers and experienced players, who represent an important part of golf’s history in the UAE. Their interaction with the younger generation adds significant value to the sport’s continued development,” Al Hashemi said.
The federation president also praised Abu Dhabi Golf Club for hosting the tournament, highlighting the importance of cooperation with clubs and partners in successfully delivering the federation’s programmes and achieving its objectives of elevating UAE golf and strengthening its presence at both the local and international levels.
