Ajman secured a thrilling 4-3 win over Hatta at Rashid Bin Saeed Stadium in Matchweek 2 of the Pro League, completing a dramatic comeback with a late winner.
The match produced seven goals and several twists, with both teams coming from behind before Ajman eventually claimed all three points.
Hatta made a flying start as Bruno Leonardo opened the scoring with a powerful header in the fifth minute. Ajman responded just two minutes later when Lourency Do fired home from inside the penalty area to make it 1-1.
The hosts completed a quick turnaround in the eighth minute as Ismail Moumene produced an impressive individual effort to give Ajman a 2-1 lead.
The momentum shifted again in the 34th minute when M. Ben Alarbi converted a penalty to equalise for Hatta. He struck again in the 44th minute, scoring directly from a free-kick to put the visitors 3-2 ahead.
Ajman responded before the break, with Saad El Hadani scoring a powerful header in the 46th minute to level the match at 3-3 and bring a remarkable six-goal first half to a close.
The opening half was played at a high tempo and packed with attacking action. Ajman recorded 56.4% possession and five shots on target, compared to three for Hatta.
After the six-goal first half, the match remained finely balanced until the closing stages. Waleed Azaro eventually delivered the decisive moment in the 97th minute, scoring the winner to complete Ajman’s comeback and seal a dramatic 4-3 victory.
The result lifted Ajman to six points from their opening two matches, while Hatta remain without a point.
Meanwhile, Shabab Al Ahli secured their second consecutive win in the Pro League after defeating Al Dhafra 2-0 at Rashid Stadium in Matchweek 2.
Yuri Cesar and Igor Gomes Silva scored the goals for Shabab Al Ahli in the 71st and 88th minutes, respectively. The first half ended goalless after an evenly contested opening 45 minutes. Al Dhafra created the first dangerous opportunity in the fifth minute when a mistake by Hamad Abdullah Almeqbaali, coming off his line, gave Khalid Abdulraheem Bawazir a chance to open the scoring, but his effort went over the crossbar.
Shabab Al Ahli responded in the 35th minute when Yuri Cesar tested Eisa Houti with a shot that the Al Dhafra goalkeeper saved. Guilherme da Silva then fired over the bar two minutes later, before Matheus Dias Lima came close for the hosts with a header that went narrowly wide in the 39th minute.
Shabab Al Ahli increased the pressure in the closing stages of the first half, with Guilherme da Silva firing a powerful effort from outside the penalty area just wide in the 41st minute. At the other end, Al Meqbali produced a crucial save to deny Al Dhafra striker Sory Kaba from the penalty spot late in the half.
Shabab Al Ahli made a strong start to the second half, with the woodwork denying Sardar Azmoun the opening goal in the 49th minute. The Al Dhafra post came to the rescue again in the 60th minute, keeping out another effort from Azmoun.
The hosts maintained their pressure and eventually broke the deadlock in the 71st minute when Yuri Cesar finished from inside the penalty area following a counter-attack.
Igor Gomes Silva sealed the victory in the 88th minute, scoring from inside the box to make it 2-0 and secure another three points for Shabab Al Ahli.
Cesar has now scored two goals and provided two assists in six Pro League appearances against Al Dhafra.
Earlier, Chris Bedia’s second-half penalty proved decisive as Al Nasr edged Al Wahda 1-0 in Matchweek Two of the Pro League.
After being held to a 2-2 draw by Kalba in their opening fixture, Al Nasr claimed their first victory of the season with a disciplined performance in a tightly contested encounter.
Neither side was able to take control during a cagey opening half, with clear-cut opportunities at a premium as both teams remained organised defensively.
With little separating the sides, the first half ended goalless, leaving the contest finely poised heading into the break.
