Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has announced that he has married his longtime partner, Georgina Rodriguez, after nearly a decade together.
Ronaldo shared the news with his millions of followers on Instagram by posting a photograph of himself and Rodriguez wearing wedding rings. The simple post appeared to confirm that the couple had taken their relationship to the next stage, although Ronaldo did not provide further details about the ceremony.
The football icon has yet to reveal whether the couple held a lavish wedding celebration attended by family, friends and celebrities, or opted for a private and low-key ceremony. No information has been released about the date or location of the wedding.
The announcement also comes after reports circulated in the media claiming that Ronaldo and Rodriguez would get married last Saturday. Those reports were later shown to be rumours, with no wedding taking place on the date mentioned.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been together for around 10 years and have frequently shared glimpses of their family life with fans on social media. Their relationship has attracted considerable attention worldwide, given Ronaldo’s status as one of football’s most recognisable stars and Rodriguez’s career as a model and social media personality.
The couple have three children together. Ronaldo also has a son from a previous relationship.

Reports that the ceremony would be held in Funchal last weekend drew hundreds of people to the city's cathedral hoping to see the couple.
The cathedral had previously told AFP it had no wedding ceremony scheduled for Ronaldo, while adding that hosting such an event would have been "an honour."
The couple ultimately opted for Cascais, an elite seaside resort around 30 kilometres west of Lisbon, where they own a villa.
They met in 2016 when Rodriguez was working in a Gucci store in Madrid, with Rodriguez describing it as "love at first sight."
In an interview with Vogue Arabia in 2025, she said she almost immediately felt "a sense of peace and an inexplicable energy" when she was with Ronaldo, "as if we had known each other forever."
Together, they have amassed more than 750 million followers across social media platforms and have built one of the world's most recognisable celebrity partnerships, extending far beyond football.
The couple have a portfolio of investments that include fashion brands and a chain of hotels.
