The World Dueball Federation (WDF) has appointed Omar Al Marzooqi as the new President of the Asian Dueball Federation (ADF), marking a significant step in the sport's expansion across Asia.
Dueball is an exciting, fast-paced hybrid team sport combining basketball, handball, and football into a dynamic competitive game.
The appointment was officially announced in a letter signed by World Dueball Federation President and Founder Firoz Khan and Vice President Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahhab Ghazi.
In the appointment letter, the WDF expressed confidence that Omar Al Marzooqi's leadership would accelerate the growth of Dueball throughout Asia. The federation highlighted his impressive achievements and stated that he is well-positioned to promote the sport, strengthen partnerships, and nurture emerging talent across the continent.
The federation also expressed optimism that, under his presidency, Dueball would witness significant progress and create new opportunities for athletes and national federations throughout Asia.
Congratulating Omar Al Marzooqi on his appointment, the World Dueball Federation said it looks forward to working closely with him to achieve their shared vision of expanding the sport and enhancing its presence across the Asian continent.
Omar Al Marzooqi, who serves as an Ambassador Extraordinary, Dubai Police Major, International Handball Referee, and owner of the Omar Al Marzooqi Group of Companies, was selected in recognition of his leadership, extensive experience, and commitment to sports development.
“I will also do my utmost to promote this sport across as many Asian national federations as possible, God willing, so that all players at every level can benefit from it, enjoy healthy competition, engage in sports, and stay away from delinquency, drugs, and anything else that could harm them,” said Omar Al Marzooqi.
“I will also work diligently to support the Asian Federation of Dueball through my personal relationships with companies, encouraging them to sponsor and advertise this exciting and popular sport, God willing.”
