International chess arbiter and Executive Director of the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club, Mohammed Abdul Ghani, has been awarded the prestigious title of Fair Play Expert by the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
With this recognition, he becomes the first Arab international arbiter to obtain this specialized accreditation, and one of only 38 experts worldwide officially certified in the field of fair play.
The distinction was granted in recognition of his extensive contributions to the development of chess at both national and international levels, as well as his broad experience in officiating and organizing major tournaments.
Abdul Ghani has also served as a FIDE arbiter and Fair Play Expert in four consecutive World Championships.
Expressing his pride in the achievement, Abdul Ghani—who also serves as Secretary of the World Chess Composition Federation—stated that this recognition reflects the advanced status of chess in the UAE, as well as the pivotal role played by the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club in developing and empowering sporting talent.
He further emphasized that the Fair Play system has become a cornerstone of modern chess, supported by advanced monitoring procedures that ensure integrity and competitive fairness. He highlighted his commitment to leveraging this international expertise to further strengthen UAE chess and enhance its global presence.
Abdul Ghani extended his gratitude to the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club and the UAE chess community for their continuous support, expressing his ambition to contribute to further achievements for the game in the coming period.
