Sharjah Women’s Sports Club concluded its participation in the 2025-2026 UAE Archery League with outstanding results that reflect both stable performance and the expansion of its participation base.
The club finished strong in the final stage of the competition held at the Sharjah Police Officers Club, securing a notable presence on the podium.
On the first day of the competition, the club’s athletes shone brightly in individual events. Amina Al Awadi clinched the gold medal in the women’s compound bow category, while Samia Odineva took the gold in the under-18 recurve bow category, followed by Mona Al Shara’a, who earned the silver medal.
The Sharjah women continued their strong showing in the recurve bow category, with Sinehal Devakar winning the gold medal, followed by Maha Al Hosani in second place. Fatima Al Balushi secured third place, while Sara Al Balushi took the silver in the under-21 category.
Mytha Al Neimi excelled in the compound bow competition, winning the gold medal in the under-21 category, while her team-mate Sara Al Mazmi earned the silver.
Positive results continued on the second day of the competition, with Salama Al Ali securing the gold medal in the under-12 recurve bow category, and Ilma Sigri winning the bronze in the same category. In the under-15 compound bow category, Maysa Al Dros earned the silver, while Maha Thamer Al Shamsi took the bronze. Shaikha Abdullah also won the bronze in the under-10 category.
The club’s athletes secured a total of 14 podium finishes in the overall league standings, with 5 golds, 5 silvers, and 4 bronzes, highlighting the team’s consistent competitiveness across different categories.
The expansion of the team’s base was evident, with 34 athletes participating in 11 different categories, over 70% of which were from various age groups.
This reflects the success of the technical development work in building a strong future base that supports the team’s ongoing achievements.
Several athletes maintained impressive consistency throughout the season, with Amina Al Awadi winning the women’s compound bow title after leading most of the league stages. Sinehal Devakar claimed the recurve bow title for women, while Samia Odineva stood out in the under-18 category, setting a new national record of 675 points.
Coach Zekhr Tagaeva confirmed that these results reflect the continuous effort throughout the season. She noted that the variety of podium finishes and the emergence of several names reinforces the team’s readiness for upcoming competitions.
She added that the next phase will focus on refining technical details and enhancing consistency, especially with the expanding base of athletes in the various age groups, to ensure the team’s competitive presence continues in the future.
