The tournament opened on Monday, January 26, with a confident 6–4.5 victory over Equity Polo. RGF Polo Team hit the ground running, driven by an inspired display from Romain Gerardin-Fresse, who scored four goals, supported by Salman Ben Haif and Santos Iriarte, each adding one. The result immediately positioned the team among the early favourites.

A thrilling match with Noon Polo

Momentum carried into Thursday’s highly anticipated encounter against Noon Polo, captained by Rashid Al Abbar. In one of the competition’s most closely contested matches, both sides were locked at 5–5 at the end of regulation time. Extra time proved decisive, with Rashid Al Abbar converting the golden goal to seal the win after a flowing and technically impressive phase of play.

A decisive Saturday and a well-earned title

RGF Polo Team returned strongly on Saturday, delivering two commanding performances. The team first defeated ESME Polo with a clear 5–1.5 victory, before closing the day with another dominant win against TIKI TIKI Polo, 4–0.5.

Thanks to these two successive victories, RGF Polo Team claimed the Bridle · Ball · Quarter Final (BBQ Final) of the New Year Polo Cup 2026, confirming their consistency and competitive strength over the course of the tournament.
