The fourth edition of the UAE International Junior Tennis Championship (J100), organised by the UAE Tennis and Padel Federation under the supervision of the International Tennis Federation, concluded at the courts of the Top Spin Academy in Dubai, featuring top players from over 30 countries worldwide.
Swedish player William Kjellberg claimed the Boys’ Singles title after defeating Russian player Richard Lacis in the final in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
In the Girls’ Singles competition, Russian player Polina Orlova secured the title following her victory over England’s Sophie Bekker in three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6.
The boys’ doubles crown went to the Canadian duo Caden Colburne and Andy Tchinda Kepche, who triumphed over the Netherlands and French pairing of Raul Clarjis and Octave Pujo 2-6, 6-4,11-9.
In the girls’ doubles, the Russian Stefania Neporent and Chinese Wang Xiaotong claimed top spot after defeating their opponents Valeria Galyaeva and Sofa Nasonova, 7-6, 6-4.
Saeed Al Marri, Secretary-General of the UAE Tennis and Padel Federation, congratulated the winners and wished them further success in upcoming tournaments. He emphasized the Federation’s commitment, under the leadership of Sheikh Saeed Bin Juma Al Maktoum, to supporting and enhancing the success of local and international tournaments, particularly junior events, which are now held annually in Dubai and Fujairah.
Marri highlighted that these tournaments help attract top global talents and positively contribute to the Federation’s plans to promote tennis and padel, as well as to build strong national teams from local talent. He also appreciated the efforts of clubs and academies, thanked Top Spin Academy for its organizational support, and praised the referees and administrative staff.
Kjellberg expressed his delight at winning the championship, noting that this was his second time claiming first place in Dubai after his previous victory in November, in addition to finishing second in the Dubai International Championship earlier this month. He also expressed his desire to return for future tournaments and praised the positive atmosphere and excellent organization.
Orlova also expressed pride in winning the girls’ singles title, particularly given the strong international rankings of the participants.
She added that the victory gives her great motivation to continue her journey and achieve more success, praising the atmosphere in Dubai and its mild climate.
