Cricket enthusiasts in the UAE are set to witness a rare opportunity as legendary Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq brings his elite coaching expertise to the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium in a three day camp started on Ja.24 and will run up to Jan.26.
Known globally as “The King of Spin,” Saqlain will lead an intensive three-day spin-focused programme tailored to nurture young cricketers from across the region.
Organised by MS YTCA in collaboration with CRICKETAAA, the event is more than a coaching camp — it’s an immersive training journey into the advanced world of spin bowling. Combining tactical education, skill mastery, and mental discipline, the camp is crafted to help young talents develop the mindset and techniques needed for competitive cricket.
A major highlight of the initiative is the exclusive one-on-one sessions with Saqlain Mushtaq himself. These interactions will offer personalised guidance on spin mechanics, grip control, deception techniques, and situational bowling — all designed to give participants firsthand access to elite-level strategies honed during Saqlain’s decorated international career.
Complementing these sessions is the Spin Clinic with Saqlain Mushtaq, a structured evening programme focusing on match awareness, control, variation, and the mental toughness needed to excel. Designed for a small group of selected participants, the clinic promotes hands-on learning, mentorship, and a deep understanding of the art of spin.
Saqlain Mushtaq commented, “Spin bowling is a skill that needs courage, clarity, and control. This camp is not just about drills — it’s about teaching young bowlers how to think, plan, and perform under pressure. I’m excited to be in Sharjah, a venue with deep cricketing heritage, to help shape the next generation.”
Shahzad Altaf, Founder of MS YTCA, added, “This is more than coaching. It’s about creating future-ready players with strong values and technical depth. Saqlain’s presence brings unmatched value to our programme.”
With limited spots available, early registration is recommended as the initiative is expected to attract young cricketers from across the UAE and beyond. More details are available via the official academy channels and partner platforms.
Saqlain was one the best spinners of his time. He along with leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed formed a lethal spin duo. Both of them together won many matches for Pakistan.
Saqlain had been long-standing spin coach in England, working with the national team and many counties as well.
