Sharjah produced a stunning second-half comeback to defeat Al Nasr 4–2 in Matchweek 12 of the Adnoc Pro League on Tuesday.
Al Nasr made a blistering start and took the lead inside seven minutes.
Kevin Agudelo provided a moment of inspiration with a brilliantly disguised backward pass that split the defence and released Miérez inside the box.
The striker made no mistake, firing confidently into the net to give the visitors an early advantage.
Sharjah responded swiftly just three minutes later through Igor Coronado.
The Brazilian picked up the ball inside the penalty area, weaved past two defenders and unleashed a shot that took a slight deflection off Salem Sultan, wrong-footing the goalkeeper and restoring parity.
Al Nasr regained the lead in the first minute of first-half stoppage time when Luka Milivojević stepped up to convert from the penalty spot.
The midfielder showed ice-cold composure, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to ensure his side went into the break ahead.
Sharjah emerged from the interval with renewed intent and drew level on the hour mark.
Coronado turned provider this time, collecting the ball outside the box, cutting inside and squaring a perfectly weighted pass across goal for Caio Lucas, who finished clinically from close range at the far post.
The momentum swung decisively in Sharjah’s favour just three minutes later.
Ousmane Camara collected the ball, beat his marker and rounded the onrushing goalkeeper before calmly slotting to put Sharjah ahead for the first time in the contest.
The visitors completed a remarkable turnaround eight minutes after the hour mark as Caio Lucas struck again.
Khaled Ebraheim delivered a pinpoint cross into the area, and the winger applied a clinical close-range finish to make it 4–2 and seal the victory.
Al Wahda returned to winning ways with an impressive 3–0 victory over Bani Yas at Al Nahyan Stadium, inspired by a superb hat-trick from Omar Khrbin.
Khrbin scored all three goals in the first half, while Dusan Tadić played a decisive role by providing three assists, as Al Wahda dominated proceedings from the outset.
The opening goal arrived in the 12th minute when Khrbin finished confidently from a precise Tadić pass, before the duo combined again six minutes later to double the lead.
Bani Yas attempted to respond but struggled to create clear chances, and just before half-time, Khrbin completed his hat-trick in the 49th minute with another composed finish, once again set up by Tadic.
It marked Khrbin’s third hat-trick in the Pro League, all scored in Al Wahda colours. Tadić, meanwhile, became the first Al Wahda player to register three assists in the first half of a league match.
The second half saw a slower tempo, with play largely concentrated in midfield. Al Wahda remained the more threatening side, while Bani Yas came closest to scoring in the 74th minute, but the scoreline remained unchanged.
The win lifts Al Wahda to 24 points in second place, while Bani Yas remain on seven points in 12th position.
In another match, Kalba and Al Wasl played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in a four-goal thriller on Wednesday.
After a goalless first half, both sides delivered a dramatic second period, producing four goals in an end-to-end contest that saw the lead change hands twice.
The result leaves Al Wasl in third place with 22 points, while Kalba sit seventh on 16 points.
