Shabab Al Ahli delivered a dominant 3-0 victory over Al Jazira in matchweek 11 of the Adnoc Pro League on Saturday, securing the win with a well-executed performance that saw them score once in the first half and add two more after the break.
This impressive result further solidified their position as one of the top contenders in the league this season.
The breakthrough came in the 36th minute, as Shabab Al Ahli’s relentless pressure finally paid off. Mohammed Juma showed great skill as he darted past his marker and unleashed a powerful strike at goal.
Al Jazira’s goalkeeper, Ali Khaseif, was quick to get a hand to the shot, but the rebound fell perfectly for Sultan Adil. The Shabab Al Ahli forward was alert and reacted instantly, tapping the ball in from close range to give his side a crucial 1-0 lead before the break.
The second half saw Shabab Al Ahli come out with even more intensity. Just three minutes after the restart, they doubled their advantage with a brilliant counter-attack. Brazilian forward Guilherme Da Silva displayed excellent vision and composure as he played a perfectly weighted ball through to Yuri Cesar inside the area. The Brazilian forward made no mistake, keeping his cool under pressure and drilling a low shot into the bottom corner of the net to make it 2-0.
As the game progressed, Al Jazira tried to get back into the match but found themselves struggling to break down the well-organized Shabab Al Ahli defense. The final blow came in the 78th minute, as Yahya Al Ghassani embarked on a fantastic solo run down the left side. Gliding past two defenders, Al Ghassani reached the edge of the box and cut the ball back for Breno Cascardo, who had the easiest task of calmly slotting the ball home from close range. The third goal sealed a commanding 3-0 victory for Shabab Al Ahli.
With this comprehensive win, Shabab Al Ahli moved up to fourth place in the Pro League standings, with 20 points, while Al Jazira remained in fifth place with 18 points.
