The 2025 UAE Cup reached a breathtaking conclusion at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting, and Golf Club, delivering a weekend of electrifying finishes across the men’s, women’s, and team divisions.
The tournament once again underscored the UAE’s stature as a premier stage for international amateur golf.
In the men’s division, it was Kayun Mudadana who emerged triumphant, claiming the coveted title after a nail-biting finale.
His rounds of 63, 68, and 65 culminated in a dramatic closing flourish, featuring three consecutive birdies to set the clubhouse target at 14 under par—a mark that England’s Eliot Baker matched, setting the stage for a heart-stopping playoff.
In the tension-soaked 18th hole, Mudadana’s nerves of steel prevailed, securing victory in true champion fashion.
Germany’s Hendrik-Luka Schmitz and Korea’s Seonghyeon An shared third place, while Morocco’s Hugo Mazen Trommetter led the Arab contingent, tying for fifth at eight under. UAE’s Sam Mullane shone as the highest-placed home contender, finishing tied seventh at six under.
The women’s division witnessed an equally captivating display as Korean sensation Yun Seo Yang surged to glory. Her scintillating final-round 7-under 63 lifted her two strokes clear of overnight leader Ella Scaysbrook of Australia, who settled for second place.
Austrian Johanna Janisch captured third place, while Turkey’s Deniz Sapmaz finished in a tie for fourth at even par. The top UAE performer, Jamie Camero, demonstrated poise and promise, concluding the event tied for ninth.
In the team competition, synergy reigned supreme.
Team Australia, powered by the stellar performances of Mudadana and Ella Scaysbrook, combined to post an impressive 25 under par, clinching the crown by a three-shot margin over Korea. England claimed third, while Morocco led the Arab nations, finishing sixth at 17 under par.
The awards ceremony began with the UAE national anthem and was attended by Major General Abdullah Al Hashemi, President of the UAE Golf Federation; Aref Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council; Tom Phillips, CEO of the DP World Tour; and from the Golf Federation, Mustafa Al Hashemi, Khaled Al Shamsi, Saeed Al Malik, Al Yazia Al Kuwaiti, Salem Bin Dasmal, and Akram Skeik.
