The UAE national team achieved a remarkable accomplishment during their participation in the IFBB World Bodybuilding Championship, which concluded on Sunday in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
The event was held under the supervision of International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation and organized by Saudi Bodybuilding Federation.
The UAE team won six medals in a competition that featured nearly 1,600 athletes from 80 countries, in addition to six top-six finishes ranging from fourth to sixth place.
The medals included two golds: Omar Al Muhairi in Men’s Physique (up to 170 cm) and Abidin in Masters Bodybuilding (45-49) under 80 kg.
Two silver medals were won by Marwan Al Balushi in Masters Classic Bodybuilding (40-44) in the open weight category, and Chanel in Men’s Bodybuilding under 75 kg.
The two bronze medals went to Matar Al Dhaheri in Masters Bodybuilding under 90 kg (45-49) and Abdullah Al Marzouqi in Masters Bodybuilding (40-44) under 90 kg.
Top-six finishes included Rashid Al Zaabi in Masters Physique, Ali Dhawi Alnaqbi in Men’s Physique, and Mohammed Farhan Baroot in Classic Physique, all finishing fourth. Abdullah Al Khattal took fifth in Masters Physique, Ahmed Mohammed Ali came sixth in Masters Physique, and Abdullah Al Marri placed in the top-six in Men’s Physique.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the UAE Bodybuilding Federation, congratulated the UAE sports community on the achievement, highlighting the efforts of the national team in reaching the global podium.
He noted that these achievements coincided with the UAE’s 54th National Day and also praised the Saudi Bodybuilding Federation for successfully hosting and organizing the event, including the warm reception at all parts of the championship.
Sheikh Abdullah also commended the efforts of the UAE delegation, including Board Member and Head of Delegation Mohammed Shaheen Al Hosani, Committee Head for Teams and Competitions Ahmed Jawhar, and the national team’s technical and administrative staff, wishing better results for those who did not medal this time.
Ahmed Jawhar, Board Member of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and Head of Committees for Teams and Competitions, described the UAE team’s performance at the World Bodybuilding Championship as remarkable. He emphasized that most athletes delivered outstanding performances, but the intensity of the competition prevented some from winning medals. He wished the team greater success in future tournaments.
