The Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation took part in the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) General Assembly, held in the city of Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, alongside the ongoing World Bodybuilding Championship.
The meeting witnessed extensive participation from national bodybuilding federations across the globe.
The UAE delegation was led by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, who praised Saudi Arabia’s successful hosting of the championship.
He described the event as a significant addition to the global development of bodybuilding, commending the efforts of the organizing committee and the Saudi Bodybuilding Federation for delivering an event that promises excellence at every level.
The General Assembly was chaired by Dr. Rafael Santoga, President of the IFBB, in the presence of Executive Committee members, the Chairman and members of the Saudi Organizing Committee, and representatives from member nations. The UAE Federation was further represented by Board Members Ahmed Jawhar and Mohamed Shaheen Al Hosani.
During the meeting, members reviewed a comprehensive agenda covering key technical and organizational matters related to the sport, including preparations for major international championships scheduled for 2026. Technical updates regarding the current edition of the World Championship were also presented.
The World Congress additionally welcomed Abdulaziz Hamad Al Muhairi, Director of the Legal Affairs Office at the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Media in Ajman, who showcased the emirate’s preparations to host the World Bodybuilding Championship (Ajman 2026). He also presented the official hosting dossier for the upcoming global event.
On the sidelines of the assembly, Sheikh Abdullah Al Sharqi met with several international officials and elite bodybuilding judges, engaging in discussions on the remarkable progress achieved by UAE bodybuilding. The meetings highlighted the federation’s ongoing efforts and the significant strides that have contributed to the sport’s growing success and reputation on both regional and global stages.
