The competitions of the Union Polo Cup will begin on Tuesday at the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club, with four teams taking part including Ghantoot, Al Faisal, Tamam, and Ancora.
The event will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Ghantoot Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club.
The tournament comes as part of the club’s celebrations of the UAE’s 54th Union Day,
especially since the club is always keen to take part in major national and social occasions.
Two matches will kick off Tuesday where Ghantoot and Tamam will meet in the first match at 3pm, while Al Faisal and Ankora will face off in the second match, which begins at 4:15pm.
The competitions will continue until Thursday with two more matches. The winner of the first match will meet the loser of the second, while the winner of the Al Faisal versus Ankora match will play the loser of the Ghantoot and Tamam match.
The final of the Union Polo Cup will be held on Saturday, November 29, featuring the winners of both matches, while the losing teams will compete for third place.
On another note, the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club will also announce a new sponsor for the club on Tuesday.
The details of the sponsorship agreement will also be revealed during a press conference, along with information about the programme for the final day of the Union Polo Cup, scheduled for November 29.
The final day will feature a variety of festive activities for spectators.
