Kings League will officially kick off on October 24th with the Kings Cup Mena taking place as part of the Riyadh season series of entertainment, cultural and sports events in Saudi Arabia’s capital city.
The Kings Cup Mena will see the Kings League Mena teams and their celebrity team presidents in action for the first time, with matches over five matchdays at Boulevard City Riyadh.
Kings League Mena is being launched under a joint venture between Kings League and Surj Sports Investment, a PIF company that is driving investments aimed at elevating Mena’s sporting ecosystem.
It is the latest regional expansion league for the revolutionary, creator-led competition founded by Gerard Pique, the football icon and entrepreneur.
As part of the Riyadh Season program, the Kings Cup Mena will be staged alongside a stunning array of events in the Saudi capital, including the Six Kings Slam tennis tournament, featuring Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, and boxing event The Ring IV, featuring four world title fights.
Kings League CEO Djamel Agaoua said: “We are thrilled to launch Kings League MENA as part of Riyadh Season 2025, a truly spectacular celebration of sport, culture, and entertainment. The Kings Cup MENA will offer fans in Riyadh and across the region an unforgettable new experience. I’m especially excited to see this new league take shape in the region, showcasing the next generation of sports entertainment by blending football with digital culture, and bringing together the region’s most influential streamers and content creators.”
Seven of the biggest regional streamers and content creators in August revealed their teams for Kings League Mena at a special event in Riyadh hosted by Pique.
Kings League’s unique format of football involves superstar content creators taking charge of seven-a-side teams in matches played under radical rules that guarantee non-stop, lightning-paced, unpredictable action.
Launched in Spain in 2023, Kings League has become a global phenomenon. Kings League Mena will be its seventh regional league alongside leagues in Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Latin America and Spain.
A massive, pan-regional audience is guaranteed for the Kings Cup Mena, as the team presidents’ fans follow their heroes into action for the first time.
